'His Bloody Project' makes 2016 Man Booker Shortlist

  • 13 September 2016

We are thrilled by the news that HIS BLOODY PROJECT by rising Scottish literary star, Graeme Macrae Burnet, has been shortlisted for the 2016 Man Booker Prize.

The novel, a masterfully written psychological thriller, was optioned by Synchronicity earlier this year and is now being developed by us for the screen.

In ingenious form, HIS BLOODY PROJECT recounts a brutal triple murder in a desolate, remote northern crofting community in 1869, leading to the arrest of local Roderick Macrae, a seventeen-year-old from the village of Culduie. Having confessed to the murders from the outset in his memoir, there’s no question of Roddy’s guilt, but what was it that drove him to commit these horrific crimes? Is he insane? Whose account should we believe? And will he hang? Part historical revenge tragedy, part gripping courtroom drama, Burnett’s second novel is a tour-de-force, brilliantly imagined and compelling from start to finish.
